Bio
Velia is a duo born from the deep encounter between Irene and Matteo, an artistic bond that fades the boundaries between identities to merge into one voice. The name, inspired by ancient idols and the sea, means “hidden”: like the emotions that emerge in silence, like their souls that are hidden in music. They are known among the rooms of the Officina Pasolini, there begins their journey sound, free and entirely self-produced. In 2024 they published Scogli, Ansiasociale and Breathe bringing their voice on stages such as Reset Festival, 1MNext, Musicultura, Fabrice du Cinéma, Auditorium Parco della Musica, BASE Milano. Their music is an interweaving of electronics, songwritership and experimentation, where words become refuges for fragility, anxiety and desires. Velia is a project that is not afraid to show itself naked, that walks on the margins to seek the truth, always a little further.
