Bio

Flavio Giurato is undoubtedly the best kept secret of the Italian singing scene. Roman, born 1949, Flavio is a cult artist for professionals and enthusiasts. His record debut dates back to 1978, with "Per Futili Momenti", vinyl never reissued on CD and currently only available in shops and rare sites for collectors. The next record “Il Tuffatore” (CGD, 1982), is considered by all his absolute masterpiece. The album is featured on the chart of the 100 most beautiful Italian records ever according to Rolling Stone Italia, at number 84. “Il Tuffatore”, recently reissued on vinyl, inspired some well-known Italian writers such as Aldo Nove, Tiziano Scarpa, Palo Nori, Simone Lenzi, Gianrico Carofiglio, Fulvio Abbate and others to write some short stories, published in 2004 in the book “Il diffatore – Tales and Opinions on Flavio Giurato”. "Marco Polo" (1984) is his third album followed by a very long recording silence lasting almost twenty years. Flavio Giurato has however continued to write songs and, sometimes, to play live for the pure pleasure of doing so. His “cult” meanwhile spread over the Internet, through the sites dedicated to him, the MP3s to download online, the exchange of material. In the 2000s he returned with two new records: “The songwriter’s handbook” (2002) and “Majorana’s disappearance” (2015). In 2017 he released “The promises of the world”, a concept album on migration, on the movement, on the journey and movement of human beings around the world, told by the facts and not informed about the facts, seen from many sides and not from a single corner. Between the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026 a return to the scenes is expected with the new record “The Consul General” and a new tour.
