Biografia

Gaia Morelli, nata nel 2000, si avvicina alla musica fin da bambina: è suo padre, affamato e attivo fruitore di musica, che le trasmette quest’amore sin da quando era molto piccola.

Da lui arriva anche la presenza costante dei Beatles in cuffia e altri ascolti che la portano ad avvicinarsi a nomi come King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Big Thief, Elliott Smith, Wilco, Bon Iver, Fiona Apple, Phoebe Bridgers e molte e molti altri.

A 12 anni inizia a studiare gli strumenti che attualmente suona mentre a 15 scrive le prime canzoni. A 17 nasce il suo progetto musicale, Baobab!, con cui pubblica l’EP omonimo (2022, Dischi Sotterranei / Needn’t) che ha ottenuto ottimi riscontri dai media e dal pubblico, e l’ha portata a esibirsi su
palcoscenici prestigiosi come quello del Mi Ami 2022.

Da un paio d’anni vive a Torino, dove si sta formando musicalmente e personalmente. Qui è entrata in contatto con addetti ai lavori del settore musicale, artiste, artisti e persone alle quali si è legata molto, alcune delle quali fanno parte della grande famiglia coinvolta nei lavori sul disco. Anticipato dal singolo Rumore, l’album d’esordio come Gaia Morelli, dal titolo La Natura Delle Cose, esce venerdì 12 aprile per Dischi Sotterranei e Panico Dischi, con il sostegno del MiC e di SIAE, nell’ambito del programma “Per Chi Crea”.
